Portuguese Language Day at MSLU
A concert of Portuguese music was held at MSLU on the eve of Camões Day on June 3. It was organized by the Translation Faculty’s Department of Portuguese Language and Culture. Next year (2023) the Department will mark its 60th anniversary: for more than half a century the Moscow State Linguistic University has been training Lusophone specialists for various spheres of activity.

MSLU Hosts a Traditional Festival of Cultures
The Festival of Cultures, the most colorful festival of the outgoing spring to be organized by the MSLU Youth Policy Department, has turned into an unprecedented three hour-long multilingual music program involving more than 150 participants from twenty countries.

Linguistic-Cultural Project Great Britain: History, Literature, Arts Completed at MSLU
On April 22, the Center of the English Language and Culture of MSLU conducted the final stage of the annual university-wide linguistic-cultural project Great Britain: History, Literature, Arts. Two significant events took place within the project: a student conference and a gala concert dedicated to the English Language Day and the birthday of William Shakespeare.

Center of Uzbek Language and Culture Opened at MSLU
On April 21, the Center of the Uzbek Language and Culture was opened at MSLU. The Center is aimed at promoting the Uzbek language, culture and national traditions and it has become the 23rd cross-cultural center of the Moscow State Linguistic University and the first center of Uzbek culture in Moscow.

Members of MSLU Vietnamese Club meet up with cosmonaut Sergei Krikalyov
On the eve of Cosmonautics Day, the members of the MSLU Vietnamese club have met up with a special guest, the legendary Russian cosmonaut Sergey Krikalyov. The meeting was held at the site of the Russian-Vietnamese Friendship Society (RVFS), which MSLU is member of. In addition to Russian and Vietnamese students of the university, the meeting was attended by Vietnamese students from other universities in Moscow.

Rectors’ Forum of Shanghai Cooperation Organization University
March 21, 2021 saw an online Rectors’ Forum of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) University. The meeting was attended by representatives of the head universities of the SCO University, including the Rector of Moscow State Linguistic University Irina Krayeva and the Director of the Project Office for International Cooperation Olga Egorova, who coordinates the implementation of the project at the university.

In March 2022, MSLU students and professors initiated new projects in terminology: filling the terminological database WIPO Pearl of the World Intellectual Property Organization and the European project “Terminology without Borders”.

Lecturers of MSLU being Russian culture ambassadors at 2022 Kolkata Book Fair
On March 13, the Kolkata International Book Fair terminated. Russia has already become a guest of the global largest book event for the fifth time. On the first day of the Fair, a Russian booth was solemnly launched; it was organized by ANO “Institute for Literary Translation” and the Consulate General of the Russian Federation in Kolkata.

80th anniversary of Translation and Interpreting Faculty
This year marks the 80th anniversary of MSLU’s Translation and Interpreting Faculty. Founded as a place with a focus on military translation whose graduates would interpret at the Nuremberg and Tokyo tribunals, it has evolved to service a modern multi-stakeholder economy and boast a wide network of academic partnerships.
