On January 26, Moscow hosted the Second Forum of Rectors of Russian and British Universities. It was attended by over 60 rectors and representatives from 35 leading universities in Russia and the UK. MSLU was represented by rector Irina Kraeva.
The key objective of the Forum was to discuss major areas of Russian-British cooperation in education and science, namely, extending academic mobility of students, graduate students and teachers, designing new and functioning of existing double degree educational programmes, further deepening of scientific cooperation in the priority areas, as well as developing of youth cooperation.
Valery Falkov, Minister of Science and Higher Education of the Russian Federation, pointed out: “Scientific and educational cooperation of Russia and the UK has a long history. Our universities have concluded over 300 cooperation agreements”.
“Over the past decade, Russian and British researchers have jointly published 15,000 academic articles with an impact factor three times higher than the world average. When we work together, we do the best research,” said Scott McDonald, British Council Executive Director.
